TIPS FOR CHOOSING A
WINDOWS REPLACEMENT COMPANY
There are a lot of companies out there to choose from. Most of them will do a good job for you.
If you want to make sure that you're choosing a good company, then ask the following questions:
- Do you use nailing fins? Nailing fins are the best way to get a good solid seal to
insure that you have protection from the weather.
- Are the salespeople pushy? You do not have to deal with high pressure salespeople. One customer
told us that they had to sign a contract in order to get the sales person to leave. They then
canceled their contract and contacted us.
- Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau?
- Are their installers AAMA certified? (AAMA stands for American Architectural Manufacturers
Association).
- Are they in good standing with the Contractors Construction Board (CCB)? Is their
CCB number prominently displayed on their trucks?
- Are they licensed? Bonded? Insured?
- How long have their senior installers been in the field? Some companies will tell
you that they have 25 years experience - that's 2.5 years experience for 10 employees.
- Have they attended training classes offered by the various manufacturers?
- Do their trucks have their name and phone number displayed on them? If they're using
trucks with no markings, then you might be dealing with a fly-by-night company.
- Are their salespeople knowledgeable? Or do they just know enough to make a sale.
- Do they start offering discounts to get your business after you first say no? Look for
a company that offers good fair prices up front to everyone.
- Do they offer a selection from more then one manufacturer?
